8,000 people pack the University District in Kingston, Ont. to celebrate homecoming weekend at Queen's University

A police officer is being treated for injuries after objects were thrown towards law enforcement officials monitoring Queen's University Homecoming Celebrations in Kingston.
Approximately 8,000 people flooded Aberdeen Street, near the university campus, for homecoming festivities at Queen's University.
Late Saturday afternoon, Kingston police announced Aberdeen Street, as well as William Street, have been declared an 'aggravated nuisance party' under the Mayor's Emergency Order. Anyone in the area could be fined $2,000.
CTV News Ottawa's Kimberley Johnson reports the streets and front lawns of homes on Aberdeen Street and adjoining streets were packed with students at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Earlier in the afternoon, police said there was a "volatile crowd" on Aberdeen Street.
