
61 students reached Bihar from Ukraine, estimates suggest 200 more stranded

Patna DM has arranged for separate vehicles to transport the students to their hometowns. Two help desks have been set up at the Patna airport.
A total of 61 students have so far reached back home in Bihar from war-torn Ukraine in the last two days, Patna district officials said on Monday.
The evacuees arrived in separate batches. Twenty-eight students arrived on Sunday, followed by 23 on Monday.
Three Bihar ministers, including Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad, industries minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, were present at the airport to welcome the students who landed on Sunday.

Patna district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has made separate vehicles available to transport the students to their hometowns. Two help desks have been set up at the Patna airport for the convenience of students returning from Ukraine and their guardians.
Though the state government does not have specific data on the number of people from Bihar stranded in Ukraine, rough estimates put the number at more than 200 people, which consists of mostly medical students.
Patna-based insurance professional Manoj Kumar Jha is one among the guardians still waiting for their wards to return. “My nephew is expected to return in two days,” he said.
