53 of 163 animals, birds died at Kevadia jungle safari in Gujarat

At least 53 out of 163 animals and birds died at the Kevadia jungle safari, which were brought from foreign countries and different states.
As many as 53 out of 163 animals and birds brought from different states and foreign countries died inside the most famous Kevadia jungle safari at the Statue of Unity, said the Government of Gujarat during the ongoing assembly session.
It is one of the most ambitious projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Gujarat government.
The information was given in the ongoing session of the legislative assembly in reply to a question asked by Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar from the Danilimda constituency.

The reply given by the government of Gujarat stated that 53 of the 163 animals and birds died which were brought from foreign countries and different states of India. 22 of the birds and animals were exotic.
MLA Shailesh Parmar also asked about the total expenditure and the total earnings till date. According to the data provided by the government in the years 2019, 2020, 2021, around Rs 5.47 crores were spent on bringing animals and birds from foreign countries and different states of India. Out of 53 animals and birds, 8 which died were brought from foreign countries while 45 belonged to different states of India.
The government data also revealed that in the years 2020 and 2021, over 8.37 lakh people visited the Kevadia jungle safari and income of over Rs 15.73 crore was generated.
