President Ram Nath Kovind will be in Bangladesh from December 15 to 17 in his first foreign visit since the pandemic struck early in 2020. He will participate in the neighbouring nation’s Victory Day celebrations to mark fifty years since Bangladesh defeated Pakistan and formed a separate nation.
The invitation was extended to President Ram Nath Kovind by his Bangladeshi counterpart Md Abdul Hamid. President Kovind, accompanied by his wife and daughter as well as minister Subhas Sarkar and MP Rajdeep Roy, will be the only foreign dignitary at the event.
