50 workers hospitalised after gas leak in company in Andhra's Achutapuram

At least 50 women workers fell sick after a gas leak at a chemical company in Andhra Pradesh's Achuthapuram district.
As many as 50 women workers were rushed to hospital on Tuesday following a gas leak in a chemical company in Andhra Pradesh's Achuthapuram district. Initial reports suggest that women employees fell unconscious due to vomiting and nausea.
At least 50 women workers reportedly fell sick due to a gas leak at the company and were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
As per Anakapalle Police, a few women fell ill after a gas leak was reported in a company located in Achutapuram. Some of them have been rushed to a local hospital. Police were waiting for APPCB officials to arrive and assess the situation and no one was allowed to enter inside the premises.

"At around 8 pm, the workers went to the canteen and when they came back to work, a few of them complained of vomiting and nausea," Ankapalle Inspector told India Today.
However, at present, there is no smell of gas at the plant and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
