
5 states face monsoon fury, Gujarat, Telangana among worst affected

As many as five states in the country are battling heavy rain and floods with the onset of monsoon. Gujarat, Telangana and Maharashtra remain the worst affected.
As many as five states are reeling under heavy rain and flood-like situations. In Gujarat, at least 60 people have died and in parts of Telangana, houses have been inundated. The flood-situation in Assam is improving but the monsoon joy is turning into a nightmare for these five states.
On Monday, heavy rain lashed parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnakata and parts of Madhya Pradesh. These states remain under alert as heavy downpour is likely in the coming days.
Over 3,000 people have been shifted to safer locations in Gujarat as several rivers were flowing above the danger mark due to the rainfall. Authorities have been asked to monitor the situation and carry out rescue operations wherever required.

In Telangana, schools and colleges will remain shut for the next two days as heavy rain lashed the state with more rainfall predicted till July 13.
