5 killed as car plunges into gorge in Jammu & Kashmir’s Ramban district

Five people were killed on Saturday when a Toyota Innova skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, officials said. The SUV with six people on board was on its way to Jammu from Banihal and the accident took place near Digdaul around 9.45 am, when the driver hit an oncoming car and lost control over the vehicle. Rescuers, including police, CRPF and Ramban Civil QRT, swung into action soon after the car rolled down 300 metres from the highway into the Bichlari river.
