5 killed after speeding truck rams into loader tempo in Kanpur

A speeding truck collided with a loader tempo in Kanpur, killing five people and injuring around eight early on Sunday morning.
At least five people were killed and around eight have been injured after a speeding truck hit a loader tempo on the Ahirwan flyover of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur in the wee hours of Sunday.
This is the second major accident in Kanpur in a single night within six hours.
According to Chakeri Police Station Incharge Shailendra Singh, “A speeding truck hit a loader tempo on the Ahirwan flyover. Five people have lost their lives and around 7-8 people are injured.”
The family in the tempo was heading to Vindhyachal for a family function. The injured family members have been admitted to Kashiram Hospital.
A heavy police force is present on the spot. A rescue operation is going on.
In another accident in Kanpur on Saturday, at least 27 people, including 11 children and 11 women, died as a tractor-trolley overturned on the road. At least 30 others were injured who are being treated at a hospital.
The tractor-trolley, carrying over 50 pilgrims, was on its way to Ghatampur from Fatehpur where the passengers attended a "mundan" ceremony at the Chandrika Devi temple. It met with an accident after it overturned and fell into a pond near Bhadeuna village, located within the Saar police station limits. The police and rescue teams reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital.
