Five boys drown in the Yamuna river on Sunday while immersing an idol of Lord Krishna.
Five boys drowned in the Yamuna river under the Delhi Noida Direct (DND) flyover on Sunday while immersing an idol of Lord Krishna. The boys had entered the river after the idol got stuck in the water.
Authorities recovered the bodies of all the five boys from the river. Their bodies have been sent to the Safdarjung Hospital for autopsies.
According to locals, 17 to 18 boys came to the banks of the river for the immersion. Six boys had gone into the river after the idol got stuck but only one came back.
The age of the boys ranged from 16 to 20 years. All of them were residents of Salarpur Village in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida.
