Telangana CM to inaugurate 4km flyover in Hyderabad, addressing traffic issues with underpasses and flyovers around KBR National Park.
The four kilometer long six lane flyover from Aramghar to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad is scheduled to be inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday (January 6, 2025) evening. Foundation stone would be laid for the underpasses and flyovers around KBR National Park in Jubilee Hills.
While the flyover was set to be inaugurated a month ago during the 10-day long ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’ held in December, it was postponed. Cost of the project, built under Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), was ₹799.74 Crore. It will address traffic issues in the localities around the flyover, as per a press release. Around 2000 buses TGRTC and private buses originating from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stop (MGBS) in Imlibun leave to various regions. The vehicles will have a smoother journey.
This is the 25th year of the initiative, which currently works with more than 90 schools in six cities and seeks to “increase awareness among children about India’s biodiversity and sensitise them to the fact that saving tigers and their forests is essential to India’s food and water security,” she says. In Bengaluru, where the initiative touches around thirty schools, Saturday’s event is “an interactive way for the public to be exposed to the great work being done by the students of Bengaluru to save the tiger and the environment,” says Haidarova, adding that this fest offers children a public platform to showcase their conservation resolve and work done in their respective schools through nature clubs or with the encouragement of school staff.
Pointing out that the court is witnessing innumerable cases related to pledging of stolen gold ornaments with gold finance companies, the High Court of Karnataka has asked the authorities, including the State Law Commission, to formulate guidelines/rules to regulate process of pledging of gold, particularly to tackle the issue of pledging of stolen gold.
