A 45-year-old woman was allegedly murdered inside her house in Bijanbari village in West Bengal’s Darjeeling, last Monday. Meanwhile, police have arrested one man in connection with the case.
Panic gripped the residents of Bijanbari village in West Bengal’s Darjeeling, after a 45-year-old woman was allegedly murdered inside her house last Monday.
It is alleged that the incident occurred last Monday around 2:30 PM when the victim, now deceased, identified as Chitkala Gurung, was alone at her house with her dog.
While her son has been out of town, her husband was away at his work when the incident happened.
It is alleged that Gurung was murdered using a sharp weapon.
As soon as residents got to know about the incident, they staged a protest in Bijanbari town, demanding justice for the victim. Citing the crime, residents also expressed concerns for safety as the murder was executed in broad daylight.
Meanwhile, after four days of investigation into the case, police arrested one man in connection with the case, said ACP. Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
