During the Eid al Adha holidays, the Medical Affairs Division of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) aligned all its human and technical resources to continue to provide public health, ambulance, and informative services, under the Qatar Public Health Strategy. According to a report issued by QRCS’s Medical Affairs Division, the overall number of beneficiaries from the medical services offered during the period 18-25 July exceeded 45,000 persons from different social groups, with special focus on expatriate workers, as one of the largest and most important vulnerable groups in society, QRCS said in a press release Wednesday. QRCS’s Training and Development Center provided indirect health education, by producing and posting health messages via QRCS’s social media platforms. The messages gave advising on protection against high temperatures, especially during the hottest time of the day, as well as how to practice first aid for victims of emergencies like heat exhaustion and sunstroke. Also, the health educators at Workers’ Health Centers provided live health education for the visitors, with all preventive measures in place. In partnership with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), QRCS marked World Hepatitis Day, by featuring awareness videos in three languages on the informative monitors at the patient waiting areas of Workers’ Health Centers. A total of 2,000 visitors benefited from these videos.More Related News
