Four victims were still hospitalized Thursday, two days after a mass shooting on a subway train that left New Yorkers badly shaken and forced a reckoning over passenger security on the largest public transportation system in the country.
On Friday, Mayor Eric Adams is scheduled to hold a virtual news conference to thank front-line workers for their handling of the shooting and its aftermath.
In all, 29 people were hospitalized after the alleged shooter, Frank James, tossed smoke grenades and fired 33 bullets into a train car of passengers during the morning rush hour in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

A defiant Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is testifying before an investigative Georgia Senate Committee on Wednesday. The committee scrutinized her prosecution of President Donald Trump and multiple codefendants, at one point cutting Willis’ microphone briefly when she testified beyond the question she was asked.
