4 Police Complaints Against Trinamool's Mahua Moitra Clubbed Into 1 Case

The case has been registered at Ranjhi police station under Indian Penal Code section 295A (deliberately outraging the religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Khandel said.

Four complaints against Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra for her alleged objectionable remarks about Goddess Kali have been clubbed to form a single First information Report (FIR) in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district, a police official said on Saturday.Urban and rural police stations in the district received two complaints each against Mahua Moitra for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and these were clubbed as all of them were similar, Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Khandel said.

The case has been registered at Ranjhi police station under Indian Penal Code section 295A (deliberately outraging the religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Additional SP informed.

The complaints were received in Ranjhi, Madan Mahal, Panagar and Patan police stations, the official said.

Bhopal's Crime Branch last Wednesday registered an FIR against Mahua Moitra, who has courted controversy by claiming she has every right as "an individual to imagine Goddess Kaali as a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess".
