As many as four people died and five others got injured after an SUV collided with a truck on the Chennai-Trichy highway.
As many as four people, including a woman, died and five others were severely injured after an SUV collided with a truck on the Chennai-Trichy highway in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
The incident took place when the SUV, in which a group of nine people travelling, took a right turn and was hit by a speeding truck.
Kannan, Karmugil, Lingeswaran and Thamizharasi died on the spot while commuters helped the authorities in rescuing the five injured persons. The injured were taken to Perambalur government hospital for treatment.
Traffic was affected for nearly an hour on the Chennai-Trichy highway after the accident.
All the nine people who were travelling from Kallakurichi had gone to a temple at Samayapuram. The Perambalur Police have initiated an investigation.
