Telangana food safety task force uncovers serious hygiene violations at Aman Mithaiwala, seizing expired products and deeming sweets unfit.
A task force team of Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections on March 27 at Aman Mithaiwala Private Limited, a wholesale sweet store in Mallapur, Uppal, uncovering serious hygiene violations, according to an official release. During the inspection, the officials seized 300 kg of expired products and deemed the sweets at the establishment unfit for human consumption due to excessive use of food colour and fungal infestation.
Food inspectors found that the store’s licence was issued under an incorrect jurisdiction. The kitchen floor was found to be unhygienic and sticky, with a foul smell emanating from the premises. Food handlers were observed working without essential protective gear such as hair nets, gloves and aprons. Further violations included tobacco stains on the walls and an unclean storage room, raising concerns about the overall safety and quality of food produced at the facility, according to a release.
