In a shocking development, a three-year-old girl woke up at her own funeral after doctors had declared her dead due to a stomach infection. The incident happened in central Mexico where the little girl named Camila Roxana Martinez Mendoza was pronounced dead 12 hours before, on August 17, as per the Mirror. Read on further to find out more about this.
The bizarre incident took place at the Salinas de Hildalgo Community Hospital in the state of San Luis Potosi, in central Mexico. Camila's mother, Mary Jane Mendoza, said that the toddler was vomiting and had a stomach ache and fever. She took her to a paediatrician in the family's hometown of Villa de Ramos. The paediatrician told Camila's parents to take her to the community hospital. She was treated for dehydration and was prescribed paracetamol.
As per the Mirror, Camila's condition worsened yet again and her parents rushed to the same hospital again. She was admitted but declared dead by the doctors later. "Now they wanted to connect her to an IV drip, they took a long time to connect her to oxygen. They couldn't do it because they couldn't find her veins. Finally, a nurse managed it," said Mary.
At Camila's funeral, Mary noticed that the glass panel over the coffin was clouded over. People convinced her that she was hallucinating, which led her to not open the coffin. However, Mary's mother-in-law also noticed that Camila's eyes were moving. Family members checked Camila's pulse and confirmed that she was alive.
The little girl was rushed to the hospital again but was sadly declared dead for the second time. An autopsy is underway and the case is being investigated, according to the General State Attorney, Jose Luis Ruiz.
