
3-year-old boy dies after falling into borewell in Madhya Pradesh

A 3-year-old boy fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district on Sunday morning. He was rescued after 6 hours and rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead by doctors.
A three-year-old boy, who fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district, died on Sunday after a 6-hour rescue operation.
The three-year-old boy, identified as Prince Athaya, fell into a borewell in Patera village of Umaria district on Sunday morning. After the rescue operation, which lasted till evening, Prince was brought out of the borewell and taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The boy went to the farm with his family members on Sunday. While playing in the field, Prince suddenly fell into an open borewell. After a while, when the relatives did not hear from Prince, they started searching for the boy. The family members then heard the sound of him crying coming from the open borewell in the field.

The police were immediately informed about the incident. Soon, administrative staff and senior officials of the district reached the spot and the rescue operation started. The borewell was about 7 inches wide and the officials had to use 2 JCB machines to dig around it. The child was trapped at a depth of about 20 feet.
Teams of SDRF and local administration rescued the child on Sunday evening after 6 hours and he was immediately taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the child was declared dead.
The child died just 15 days before his birthday.
