3 cops killed, 14 injured in road mishap during poll duty in Odisha’s Nabrangpur

Three police officers were killed and 14 others were injured in a road accident while on duty in Odisha's Nabrangpur on Friday.
At least three police personnel were killed and 14 others injured as the bus they were travelling in overturned in Sorispadar, under Papadahandi police limits in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district. All the injured were shifted to Papadahandi CHC and the district hospital.
As per reports, the mishap occurred when a bus carrying around 40-45 security personnel was travelling from Papadahandi to Kosagumuda.
The bus skidded off the road and crashed 15 feet down the road near a turn as the driver was unable to control it despite applying the brakes.
After being informed by locals, the police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers with the help of locals. However, three cops had already died by the time they reached the hospital.
The deceased police personnel have been identified as Ravi Bisoi, CH Sesa Rao, and Jagabandhu Gouda.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his condolences for the loss of security personnel, saying, "I am deeply saddened to hear that a road panchayat election officer was killed near Papadahandi Sorispadar in Nabarangpur district."
"I wish the injured policeman a speedy recovery. May the Lord grant infinite patience and courage to the bereaved family during this time of mourning," Pradhan tweeted.
