
3 accused in Udaipur beheading case sent to judicial custody

Three men who were accused in the murder of Udaipur tailor, Kanhaiya Lal was sent to judicial custody on Saturday.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) produced three accused in the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Jaipur's NIA court on Saturday. The three - Mohammed Riyaz Akhtari, Ghouse Mohammad and Farhad Mohammed Sheikh - were sent to judicial custody.
According to the NIA, Farhad is a close criminal associate of main accused Mohammed Riyaz Akhtari.

Kanhaiya Lal, who worked as a tailor in Rajasthan's Udaipur, was murdered in broad daylight by two men on June 28. The men later recorded a video admitting to killing Kanhaiya Lal over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma.
The incident was followed by massive outrage and protests across the country.
A case was registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and investigated by the NIA with support from the Anti-Terrorist Squad and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police.
