Sri Lanka vs West Indies 2nd Test: Ramesh Mendis sparked a batting collapse for the West Indies and ended the innings with figures of 6/70 but the visitors stayed ahead as Sri Lanka lost two wickets late in the day to run-outs.
West Indies remained ahead in the second Test against Sri Lanka on Day 3 despite off spinner Ramesh Mendis leading a fightback from the hosts with his maiden five-wicket haul in Galle on Wednesday. Mendis ended the West Indies innings with figures of 6/70 but Sri Lanka were pegged back by two run outs towards the latter stages of the day and trail the West Indies by three runs.
Sri Lanka were 46/2 in their second innings at the close, having conceded a 49-run first innings lead to the visitors, who were bowled out for 253. Sri Lanka scored 204 in its first innings. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne (6) was run out to a brilliant direct hit from Kyle Mayers and Oshada Fernando (14) was also run out. Pathum Nissanka was batting on 21 with Charith Asalanka on 4.
