Heinrich Klaasen's T20I career-best helped South Africa beat India by four wickets in the second T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series at the Barabati Stadium on Sunday.
South Africa were off to a horror start as Bhuvneshwar Kumar brought his A-game to the table in the Powerplay. Bhuvneshwar dismissed Reeza Hendricks (4), Dwaine Pretorius (4), and Rassie van der Dusse (1) to dent South Africa during a sensational powerplay spell.

He castled Hendricks in the first over himself while, in the second over of his spell, Bhuvneshwar got rid of the explosive Pretorius. Rishabh Pant backed him to bowl the third over and the veteran pacer didn’t disappoint his skipper. In the final over of the powerplay, Bhuvneshwar castled the hero of the 1st T20I, Rassie van der Dussen, for just 1.

Captain Temba Bavuma then joined hands with Heinrich Klaasen as the latter injected a bit of momentum into the chase. Just when they looked in control and the boundaries started to flow, Bavuma got out. Though Klaasen just kept on playing his shots and with an in-form David Miller at the other end, they almost got it done in a jiffy. A couple of wickets fell towards the end and Klaasen got out after making 81 important runs as well.
Bhuvneshwar did end with a four-wicket haul but it wasn't enough. Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel bowled well but other than that, both the spinners and Pandya received a tap. Klaasen toyed with the opposition attack to deny the Rishabh Pant-led side a win at the Barabati Stadium.
