26-year-old Kashmiri youth scales Mount Everest

Mahfooz Ilahi Hajam, a 26-year-old resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, scaled Mount Everest recently.

Twenty six-year-old Mahfooz Ilahi Hajam, a resident of the Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, has successfully scaled Mount Everest. Mahfooz, a civilian instructor at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS) in Aru (Pahalgam), scaled the world's highest peak. "At 6.20 am on June 1, I scaled Mount Everest [8,849 metres], the highest peak in the world," Mahfooz said.
