Adnan Deumic, a 25-year-old London-based trader at Bank of America died Thursday evening — just two weeks after the death of Leo Lukenas III, a 35-year-old banker who had been working 100-hour work weeks at the financial giant, The Post has learned.
Deumic was playing in a casual “five-a-side” charity soccer tournament with other finance employees when he fell suddenly and was administered CPR, a source with knowledge of the matter said. While the cause of death is unknown, this person told The Post cardiac arrest is suspected.
“The death of our teammate is a tragedy, and we are shocked by the sudden loss of a popular, young colleague,” a spokesman for Bank of America told The Post. “We are committed to providing our full support to Adnan’s family, his friends and to our many employees grieving his loss.”
Deumic, who was born in Sweden, joined Bank of American in 2022 as a Credit Portfolio & Algorithmic Trader.
The news comes just weeks after Lukenas, a 35-year-old investment banking associate died of from acute coronary artery thrombus.
But sources at the bank say unlike Lukenas who was working 100-hour weeks, Deumic worked shorter hours as a trader. Traders on Wall Street typically work closer to 50 or 60 hours a week.
