25 pounds of cocaine, $350K confiscated in Bronx drug bust

Cops snagged 25 pounds of cocaine and $350,000 in a Bronx drug bust they say disrupted a large-scale narcotics distribution network with possible ties to Puerto Rico.

Jose Velez, 40, is facing charges that he was a major trafficker out of his Hone Avenue apartment, the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor said on Wednesday. In searches of Velez’s apartment, cops found a loaded pistol and assault rifle, the announcement said. Two teenage kids were in the apartment with the drugs and guns, the announcement said.
