A 22-ft high model of Eiffel Tower made of flowers will be a major attraction at the four-day horticultural and floricultural exhibition which will begin at Kadri Park in Mangaluru from tomorrow.

The Department of Horticulture, Dakshina Kannada district administration and Kadri Park Abhivrudhi Samiti have organised the exhibition on the occasion of Republic Day.
Talking to reporters after reviewing preparations for the show at the park on Tuesday, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K. Anandh said the flower-based Eiffel Tower will be near the open air auditorium of the park. There will also be models of Kambala buffaloes, fishermen and Yakshagana artistes made using millets and ornamental leaves. There will be selfie zones for visitors to take photos with models of photo frames, mushroom, cannon balls, honey bees, cartoon characters and swans, made using flowers.
Dr. Anandh said nearly 100 stalls will come up in the exhibition. Progressive farmers will display their produce, while members of farmer producer companies (FPOs) and self-help groups will display their products. Apiculture farmers will display honey products of the ‘Jhenkara’ brand. There will also be stalls focused on terrace gardening, use of ‘grow bags’, cocopeat, vermicompost, desi vegetable and flower seeds. There will also be stalls selling saplings and seeds of different vegetables, flowers, and fruits.
The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be an entry fee of ₹30 per adult and ₹20 for children. There will be no entry fee for schoolchildren coming in uniform, along with their teachers, Dr. Anandh said.
