218 people died in this year's monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh: State govt

A total of 218 people lost their lives in this year's monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh, Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur told the state Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur on Wednesday informed the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly that a total of 218 people lost their lives and 12 are missing in the state in the last three weeks during the monsoon season. Since June 13, the state has suffered a total loss of Rs 451.56 crores due to damaged roads, water lines and power transmission, Mahender Singh Thakur said while responding to a discussion on climate change on the third day of the ongoing monsoon session.
