
20th Asian Women’s Film Festival begins in Delhi

Experience the 20th IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival showcasing 65 films from 21 countries made by women.
The 20th edition of the International Association of Women in Radio & Television (IAWRT) Asian Women’s Film Festival kicked off at the India International Centre on Thursday. The festival will showcase 65 films from 21 Asian countries, all made by women, till March 8.
Panel discussions, masterclasses, and exhibitions on films are also scheduled for the next two days.
Aparna Sanyal, managing trustee of IAWRT’s India Chapter, said, “The festival goes beyond films. At the heart of it, we want to continue the discourse around films, feminism, and gender.”
Ms. Sanyal said a mobile film-making workshop was recently conducted in collaboration with Delhi’s Tourism Department for 10 underprivileged girls in the national capital.
The girls were subsequently felicitated, and their films were showcased during the opening ceremony on Thursday.

The government’s announcement in the State Budget to set aside ₹300 crore for a Fund of Funds (FOF) and ₹100 crore for deep tech development has received praises from the industry leaders and experts who feel that these initiatives will go a long way in boosting the start-up ecosystem in clusters such as Mysuru, Mangaluru and Hubballi .
