2022 Renault Kiger launched with exterior updates, new colour and added features

Renault has updated the Kiger for the 2022 model year. Prices for the 2022 Renault Kiger start at Rs 5.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is one of the hottest sellers for the French marque in India tapping into the hotly contested SUV segment. It gets some cosmetic and convenience feature updates for 2022.
Visual updates for 2022 include a new skid plate in silver on the front and a new chrome strip on the tailgate at the rear. With the turbocharged engines, the Kiger also gets a new ‘Turbo’ decal on the plastic door cladding. The 16-inch alloys have a red accent behind the Renault logo. A new colour has also been added to the mix with a new dual-tone Metal Mustard taking the total available colours to six.
The cabin also gets updated with a red accent on the dash and a new quilted pattern on the seats with red stitching. It is mainly the feature list that gains the most, with additions like cruise control, 3-spoke steering with leather and red stitching, wireless phone charger and a standard Philips PM2.5 air filter. Most of these features are reserved for the top-trim RXZ with the 1.0 turbo engine.
Another change in the 2022 Renault Kiger’s model lineup is that the RXT(O) trim that was launched as a celebratory car for Renault’s 10 year anniversary is now available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol in addition to the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit in both manual and CVT variants.
There are no changes to the Kiger mechanically and it continues to be powered by either the 1.0-litre NA or 1.0-litre turbo engines. The 1.0-litre makes 72bhp and 96Nm of torque and is available with manual or AMT options, while the 1.0-litre Turbo petrol makes 100bhp and 160Nm of torque and can be opted for a CVT gearbox in addition to the manual.
The 2022 Renault Kiger is available in a choice of five trims, RXE, RXL and RXT available only with the 1.0-litre NA engine and RXT(O) and RXZ available with the 1.0-litre Turbo engine. Prices for the Kiger start from Rs 5.84 lakh for the RXE while the top-end RXZ 1.0-litre Turbo CVT Dual Tone is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
