Mahindra is bringing the BSA motorcycle brand to India next year, and ahead of its entry here, the company was revived with the official showcase of the new BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle, set to debut on November 4, 2021, in the UK. As a first product under the new banner, BSA revealed the new BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle, which, when it comes to India will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield Continental 650, as well as compete with Kawasaki W800 and Triumph Street Twin in the mid-weight motorcycle segment.
Historically, the BSA Gold Star range was built between 1938 and 1963, as a 350cc and 500cc single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycle, which was one of the fastest production models in the market at the time. The new BSA Gold Star 650, on the other hand, retains much of the classic design to keep the nostalgia intact, while improving on its powertrain with a new 650cc single-cylinder DOHC engine, that is good enough to develop 44bhp. This motor will be a well-refined unit which will put out decent efficiency figures as well. More important specifications will be announced soon, which will likely be carried on to the India-spec version as well.
