2021 MG Hector climate control now accessible via Apple Watch

The scope of the i-Smart app, that lets owners take charge of their MG Hector via their smartphones, has been expanded to include climate control functionality via Apple Watch.

The MG Hector was one of the first few mainstream cars to offer comprehensive connectivity options controllable via owners’ smart phones. MG has been regularly updating features and options available via the i-Smart app. The latest introduction to the list of connectivity and convenience features on offer includes climate control system activation/deactivation via Apple Watch. Until now, only the iOS or Android smart phone app allowed owners to access to the car’s climate control function. Now, owners can do the same using Apple’s smart watch. Users can basically activate the climate control system and set the desired temperature to per-cool or pre-heat their MG Hector. As is the case with the rest of the connected car features available under the i-Smart umbrella, smart watch app compatibility is available only in Smart and Sharp trims. Also, the remote AC on/off feature is restricted to the Smart and Sharp trims of the petrol DCT and CVT variants. According to the brochure available on MG’s official website, smart watch compatibility is restricted to the Hector currently. The MG Hector Plus does not get this feature.
