In Sprint Race 1, Daruvala was on for reverse grid pole until the final lap where he got hit twice and got barged out of the way.
A soaked and frenzied Monte Carlo race track resulted in Jehan Daruvala struggling to find grip and, as a result, settled for P11 for the feature race here at Monaco. As is standard for Monte Carlo, the qualifiers were split into two groups of 16 minutes each, with Group A made up of even-numbered cars which included Jehan. The grid for the feature race would be decided based on the fastest lap time of Group A starting on the left side, while the fastest driver of Group B would take up the right side of the grid. The Monaco track is especially tricky for many drivers in championships due to its constrained layout and lack of opportunities to overtake. Daruvala’s teammate, Dan Ticktum, who was part of Group B, qualified in P4 and would race ahead of Jehan in the feature race. However, Daruvala could manage P6 in his group qualifiers but settled for the 11th best time overall. In Sprint Race 1, Daruvala was on the reverse grid pole until the final lap where he got hit twice and got barged out of the way. However, Daruvala kept the pressure on but was out-classed by a quicker Richard Verschoor MP Motorsport, who finished P6, while the Indian racer crossed the chequered flag behind Lirim Zendeli in P9, bagging 1 point. Jehan’s teammate Ticktum, who had a brilliant sprint race 1, crossed the line in P2.More Related News
