Former India cricketer Pragyan has said that he feels Sourav Ganguly, who had retired in 2008, had a role to play in India’s 2011 World Cup win as 5-6 members of the squad were nurtured by the former captain.
Pragyan Ojha, in his expert views on Sports Today, has always maintained that there is a need for fans and cricketers to believe in the process. When the talk of India’s bench strength arises, it also includes the arguments of which players to leave out when all of them are talented enough to be in the side. The former India spinner has maintained the same point when discussing India’s 2011 World Cup win, that completed a decade today, and said that some players in the squad were nurtured by former captain Sourav Ganguly. According to Ojha, Ganguly should also be lauded for his years of contribution to Indian cricket and players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra. “And one man, I feel, who had contributed even if he was retired was Sourav Ganguly. If you see there were 5-6 members from the team that Sourav Ganguly had nurtured. That’s why I say, always believe in the process,” Pragyan Ojha said on Sports Today.More Related News
