
2006 Malegaon blasts: NIA court rejects plea by victim's father challenging discharge of accused

A plea by Shafique Ahmed Mohad Salim, who lost his 18-year-old son in the 2006 Malegaon serial blasts, was turned down by a special NIA court on Tuesday. Shafique had sought to intervene against the discharge applications filed by the four accused in the case.
The father of one of the victims of the 2006 Malegaon blast has challenged the discharge applications filed by the accused in the case before a special NIA court in Mumbai.
A resident of Malegaon in Maharashtra's Nasik, 18-year-old Sajid Ahmed Shafique Ahmed was one of the 37 victims of the serial blasts which occurred near Hamidia mosque near Bada Kabrastan after Friday prayers on Shab-e-Baraat day in September 2006. At least a hundred people were injured in the blasts.
