
200 eminent personalities appeal to Mamata Banerjee to revoke lockdown

Two hundred eminent personalities from art, music, literature, politics and other fields of the civil society have appealed to the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to ease Covid-19 restrictions in the state. The signatories also include 60 doctors. In an open letter, they said the ongoing Covid-19-imposed lockdown would destroy the livelihoods of many from the poor and backward classes, reported Bengali daily Sangbad Pratidin. Reportedly, the signatories of the letter quoted studies of several renowned epidemiologists, scientists and social scientists to highlight that lockdown should only be used as the last option to fight the pandemic.More Related News
