20,000 tribal students to perform 108 Surya Namaskarams in Araku Valley aiming for records, highlighting yoga benefits.
Around 20,000 tribal students from about 50 schools will perform 108 Surya Namaskarams as part of the programme ‘Yoga - Maha Surya Vandanam’ on April 7 at Araku Valley in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.
By performing the ‘108 Surya Namaskarams’ at a stretch for 108 minutes, the district administration is aiming for several records. All arrangements are being made at the Government Degree College Grounds in Araku Valley, where the programme will be held.
As per the authorities, the main motto of the programme is to highlight the significance of yoga in the daily life and the benefits of taking up this practice right from the school age to lead a healthy life. A team from London will be arriving for inspecting the programme.
Students from various schools from the ASR district have been practising Surya Namaskarams for the past few months with the help of trainers.
District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar has invited Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan for the event. Mr Naidu has even released the poster for the event. The district administration is expecting Mr. Pawan Kalyan to attend the event, for which arrangements are in place.
