P.E.I. is reporting two new cases of COVID-19.
One related to the outbreak at West Royalty Elementary School in Charlottetown. There have been 30 recent cases linked to the school.
The second new case is a person in their 50s, linked to recent travel outside Atlantic region.
Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison made the announcement during a last-minute COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday.
The briefing comes as concerns rise about the fourth wave of the pandemic. This month the province has seen more active cases than it ever has.
The province is working on plans to introduce the P.E.I. Vax Pass next week, which will require that people be fully vaccinated to access many public spaces. It is also introducing new rules for testing for people arriving from New Brunswick.
The province currently has nine active cases of COVID-19.
