
2 militants killed, 3 cops injured in encounter in J&K’s Srinagar

In an encounter in Srinagar on Sunday, two militants were killed and three security forces personnel injured, as per an official.
Two militants involved in a recent attack on CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar were killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday, the police said.
Three security forces personnel were injured in the encounter and have been shifted to the army hospital.

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Bishember Nagar area of Srinagar on receiving information that militants were present in the area, an official said.
During the search operation, the militants fired on the security forces’ team, as per the official. The security forces retaliated and in the ensuing encounter, two militants were killed. Both were carrying Aadhaar cards, likely to be fake. These will be investigated by the police.
