
2 men throw toilet cleaner on woman in Bengaluru, detained

A contractor and his associate were detained in Bengaluru after a woman filed a report accusing them of throwing toilet cleaner at her.
A civil contractor and his associate have been detained for allegedly throwing toilet cleaner on a woman, who sustained burn marks on her neck and shoulder.
The incident took place on Friday just before dawn when the woman was asleep at home. The woman woke up in shock and immediately screamed for help. The woman's neighbour took her to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru where the police recorded her statement.
The woman lives in Bengaluru with her two minor children. The doctors declared she suffered 10 per cent burns but is stable now.
According to the police, the contractor and the woman knew each other for more than five years as both were part of a theatre group.

Police said the contractor showed her house to his associate on Thursday and instructed him to throw the cleaning liquid through the window next to where she sleeps.
CCTV footage obtained by the police from her house and surrounding roads shows the contractor and his associate arriving by car on Friday.
