Two people were killed overnight in a southwest Calgary house fire.
Crews arrived at a home in the 2800 block of 41st Street southwest in Glenbrook just after midnight and found smoke from the basement, the fire department said in a release.
A neighbour who called in the fire had dragged one person outside and started CPR.
Two other residents got out on their own.
Fire crews found a fourth person in the basement who was handed over to medical crews.
"We can confirm at this time that two occupants have succumbed to their injuries, while the two other occupants were assessed and released by AHS on scene," the release said.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
