The Gorakhpur police chief has suspended two cops after the video of a minor rape victim went viral. The video showed the victim's face, which is not permissible under law.
The police chief in Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath's home constituency Gorakhpur has suspended two cops for their alleged inaction in a gangrape case related to a minor girl. DIG Jogendra Kumar has also directed that a case be registered against the suspended police post in-charge and a constable for bringing the victim to the police post without a face cover, as the video of the incident has gone viral. The case relates to an alleged gangrape that took place on Tuesday night. The survivor, a dancer at a local orchestra, was returning home from work at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday night. She was with two other female members of the orchestra. They dropped her off at a crossing near her house. "When I was walking towards home, two men on a bike approached me, caught hold of me, and they gagged me. They even threatened me and said they would kill me," the girl was heard saying in the video that has gone viral.More Related News
