The complainant claimed that the two men started abusing him even though he was not even interacting with them or getting in their way.
Two men were arrested by the LT Marg police for brutally assaulting a 36-year-old man, who claimed that he was accosted by the duo when he was not even interacting with them or getting in their way.The two men have been booked for attempt to murder, given the nature and intensity of the attack on the complainant.
Jayesh Gamre, a resident of Mumbai’s Sion Koliwada, was on his way to meet a friend in Chandanwadi near Marine Lines when the duo started abusing him. When Gamre objected to them using foul language, they thrashed him with hockey sticks. Gamre was grievously injured in the attack.
The two men have been slapped with sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326, (using dangerous means to hurt), 504 (intentional insult and provocation) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC and are currently in police custody.
Police are trying to find out why the two men attacked Gamre without any provocation. Further investigation into the case is underway.
