16 years later, man convicted in 2006 Varanasi serial blasts case

The accused in the 2006 Varanasi serial blasts case was convicted by a court in UP's Ghaziabad on Saturday.
Sixteen years after the 2006 Varanasi serial blasts, accused Waliullah was convicted by the district sessions court in Ghaziabad on Saturday.
The quantum of sentence will be pronounced by the court on June 6.
On March 7, 2006, bomb blasts took place at Sankatmochan Temple and Cantt railway station in UP’s Varanasi. Nearly 30 people were killed in the blasts while more than a hundrer were injured.
On April 5 in 2006, the Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested Waliullah, a resident of Phulpur village in Prayagraj district, in connection with the case.
The case was transferred to Ghaziabad for hearing on the orders of the high court.
