The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) is reporting 15 new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths on Monday.
Over the weekend, the health unit posted 19 cases as the seven-day rolling average for daily cases fell to nine, a low the region hasn't seen since early August.
The majority of positive cases over the last week were among people in the 40 to 64 age range, which made up 38 per cent of cases. Children 11 and under accounted for nearly 22 per cent of total cases, while those aged 25 to 39 made up 18 per cent of cases. Children aged 12 to 17 accounted for just over three percent of cases.
Tracking data from late September shows nearly 58 per cent of positive COVID-19 cases were people who were not vaccinated. Those being treated in hospital accounted for over 70 per cent of patients.
London Health Sciences Centre says they are caring for seven patients with COVID-19, including five or fewer who are in critical care. There are five or fewer staff who have tested positive for the virus and are isolating.
The MLHU says there are 15 active cases among 10 schools in the London area, though all positive cases are isolating.
There is one active outbreak at Wilberforce Public School in Lucan Biddulph, where four cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. The health unit does not release details about whether the cases involved students, teachers or other staff.
There have been 212 total cases at child care centres and schools since September, with the majority (152 cases) in elementary schools. There are no active cases or outbreaks at child care centres in the region.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 52 new COVID-19 cases since Friday and no deaths. There are 129 ongoing cases in the region, including 40 in Woodstock and 26 in Aylmer.
Huron Perth Public Health posted seven new cases on Monday and no deaths. There are 42 active cases in the region.
Meanwhile, Ontario reported 480 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, a 14 per cent increase over last Monday.
There were no additional deaths reported. The seven-day average of daily cases rose to 476, the highest point since mid-October.
