The Delhi Police rescued an 11-year-old girl kidnapped in Bengali market. She was reunited with her family within two hours.
New Delhi District Police has solved a kidnapping case of a minor girl within two hours. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused before he could escape from Delhi along with the victim. The victim was safely recovered and a grave mishap was averted.On March 17, the complainant informed police that his daughter, aged 11 years, was missing from the Bengali market. Due to the sensitivity of the case, the district police swung into action immediately. An FIR was registered at police station Barakhamba Road and investigation of the case was taken up. The police analysed CCTV footage of relevant locations and found that the victim had boarded an auto rickshaw. The team of police led by Inspector Mausam Ghani and SI Umesh Yadav managed to find and apprehend the accused near Pacific Mall in East Delhi area. The accused was trying to escape with the girl to Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
The accused was identified as Raghu Nath, 72, a resident of Geeta Colony. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the girl child had boarded his auto rickshaw to visit and see new places. The accused allegedly took advantage of the child’s innocence and molested her. Having evil intentions, he then planned to take the child to Haridwar.
