1 death, 14 new COVID-19 cases in London area Wednesday

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) is reporting 14 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, along with the death of a man in his 70s who was not vaccinated.
There have now been five COVID-related deaths in Middlesex-London in October, including two people who were partially vaccinated and three people who were unvaccinated. There have been 244 deaths in the region since the pandemic began.
There were 18 recoveries posted Wednesday, with 95 known active cases in the region.
The seven-day rolling average of daily cases remains steady at 12.
London Health Sciences Centre says they are caring for nine patients with COVID-19, including five or fewer in critical care. Five or fewer staff members have tested positive for the virus and are isolating.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 14 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. There are 80 ongoing cases in Elgin-Oxford.
Huron Perth Public Health posted four cases, with 27 ongoing cases in the region.
Meanwhile, Ontario reported 304 new COVID-19 cases and four more deaths.
The seven-day rolling average of new infections stayed steady at 407 infections.
