A man is dead and two are in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Brampton Sunday morning, police say.
Peel Regional Police responded to a collision on Bovaird Drive east of Heritage Road just after 11 a.m, Const. Richard Chin said Sunday afternoon.
"Upon arrival we did locate two vehicles with extensive damage," he said.
Police found two people inside one of the vehicles, Chin said, and one person in the other. All three had "significant injuries," Chin said. Two were airlifted to hospital, while the other was taken by ambulance.
The passenger of the first vehicle later died from his injuries, Chin said.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area, saying Bovaird Drive will remain closed for some time between Heritage and Mississauga roads.
The major collision bureau is now investigating, Chin said. Investigators are asking any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision, to come forward.
