Der Ökonom Tomas Sedlacek war Berater des tschechischen Präsidenten Vaclav Havel. Im WELT-Gespräch rechnet er vor, was der Ukraine-Krieg die Welt kostet. Dass der Konflikt auch für uns teuer wird, ist in seinen Augen ein zivilisatorischer Fortschritt.
WELT: Sie waren einer der ersten großen Ökonomen, der gefordert hatte, die volle wirtschaftliche Kraft in diesen Krieg zu schicken. Sind Sie zufrieden?
Tomas Sedlacek: Ja, und ich bin nicht nur zufrieden, sondern sogar stolz und auch überrascht, sowohl als Wirtschaftswissenschaftler als auch als Europäer. Das hat mich erstaunt, dass da wirklich mit ganzer Kraft gehandelt und es dann auch von fast allen umgesetzt wurde.
