Yadgir tops State in PMMVY

Yadgir district has topped the State in implementing Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana (PMMVY) with 135% achievement by end of March 2022.
Chairing a development review meeting of the PMMVY programme in Yadgir on Friday, Deputy Commissioner R. Ragapriya said that as many as 55,515 women registered their names for the yojana and of these, 45,036 pregnant women and lactating mothers benefited under the scheme.
“Each beneficiary pregnant woman and lactating women who have registered under the programme will be paid an incentive of ₹15,000, in three instalments of ₹5,000 each. Yadgir district has received ₹19,92,63,000 incentive money and the sum has been directly credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries,” she said.
She also instructed the officials to ensure that vaccine is administered to pregnant women and lactating mothers and health check-up camps are conducted at heath care centres.
Civil Judge and member secretary of District Legal Services Authority Sahil Ahmed Kunhibhavi, Deputy Director of Woman and Child Welfare Department Prabhakar Kavithal, District Planning Director B.S. Rathod, District Health Officer Indumati Patil, Planning Director of Labour Department Riyaz Patel and District Co-Ordinator of PMMVY Yallappa K. and others were present.
