A video of a woman talking about changing marriage rituals has gone viral on Twitter.
The institution of marriage has changed at great levels over the years. While some couples prefer to keep it simple and intimate, others want to celebrate their big day with full taam-jhaam. The same goes for the ceremony.
All of us have been to numerous marriage ceremonies and have a more or less clear idea about the rituals. However, there are many who like pushing boundaries and coming up with their own versions of rituals.
A video of a woman talking about one such different version of marriage has gone viral online. Shared on Twitter, the video shows her describing the changes she made at her wedding. She talked about how she wants to keep her marriage progressive and spoke about the changes in rituals. From putting sindoor on her husband’s forehead to doing “kunwardaan”, the video shows the changed rituals.

Although the clip has received over 27k views, people were confused about the “progressiveness” shown in it. Many pointed out how the woman was going about changing gender roles while wearing a chooda (ceremonial bangles) herself. Some also wrote how the gender equality in the wedding was half-done.
What's the compulsion to observe Hindu rituals. Boycott the Hindu traditional wedding & opt for a court marriage. As an aside, such a shameful misinterpretation of ancient customs grounded in equity, respect & reverence.
